Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the quality of life (QoL) of patients before and after orchiectomy for prostate cancer (PC) with bone metastases at K Hospital in 2023.
Subjects and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study of 70 PC patients with bone metastases underwent orchiectomy at K Hospital.
Results: The average age of patients was 67.8 ± 7.8 years old. The patient's pain intensity significantly decreased after surgery. The average scores of QoL domains according to the SF-36 and UCLA-PCI scales ranged from 82±9.77 to 95±10.93, corresponding to good QoL. In particular, the average score of sexual function was always at a very poor level after surgery.
Conclusion: The QoL of PC patients with bone metastases after orchiectomy was assessed at a good level.
