Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To assess the perceptions and influencing factors among clinical nurses regarding the use of the nursing process at the clinical departments of District 11 Hospital.
Subject and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in 10 clinical departments of District 11 Hospital from April to September 2024. The study included 111 nurses currently working at District 11 Hospital. The research aimed to evaluate their perception of the nursing process, confidence in its application, and the level of institutional support provided.
Results: Nurses had a high level of perception regarding the nursing process implementation (mean score 4.0 ± 0.9 points), as well as high levels of confidence and readiness to use the nursing process (mean score 4.0 ± 0.6 points). Institutional support for the nursing process implementation was also rated highly (mean score 4.0 ± 0.6 points). Nevertheless, a small proportion of nurses still demonstrated limited understanding and lacked confidence in applying the nursing pro. Additionally, barriers such as insufficient human resources, equipment, and institutional support may hinder effective the nursing process implementation throughout the hospital.
Conclusion: Although the majority of nurses at District 11 Hospital demonstrated a high level of awareness regarding the nursing process implementation, a subset still lacked adequate perception and confidence. Therefore, the hospital should allocate nursing personnel in a timely manner to support overloaded departments, thereby reducing the burden on individual nurses. Furthermore, the Nursing Department should collaborate with head nurses to enhance supervision and monitoring of care plan development, ensuring alignment with the hospital’s disease patterns.
