Abstract
Objective: To describe the trust in dentists of 10th grade students at Hermann Gmeiner Inter-school in 2024 and some influencing factors.
Subjects and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 159 students at 10th grade in Hermann Gmeiner Hanoi Inter-school, 2024. Students were surveyed and responded to an online survey measuring trust in dentists in general (T-DiG).
Results: The scale (T-DiG) has high reliability, Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the whole scale is 0.924; 62.9% of students have trust in dentists. Average score on doctor communication capacity (3.94±0.96); fidelity (2.18±1.18); systems trust (4.28±1.02); confidentiality (4.0 ±1.07); fairness (4.24 ± 0.99). Male students have 2.21 times higher overall trust in dentists than female students (p<0.05). Students with confidence in the doctor's communication capacity, fidelity, systems trust, confidentiality, and fairness all increased their overall trust compared to the group without trust (p<0.05).
