22. STRESS AMONG HEALTH WORKERS AT HUE UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY HOSPITAL IN 2022

Abstract
Health workers often operate under high pressure, dealing with critical situations and long hours, leading to significant stress that impacts their well-being and productivity. The study was conducted to determine the prevalence of stress and identify factors associated with stress among health workers at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in 2022. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 204 health workers at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital from November to December 2022. The study was assessed using 7 questions related to stress on the DASS21 scale. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was utilized to identify factors associated with stress. The results showed that the prevalence of stress among health workers at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital was 20.1%, with mild stress accounting for 10.3%. The multivariable logistic regression model revealed that young age (OR=1.162; 95%CI=0.713-0.990), male gender (OR=8.687; 95%CI=2.845-26.519), single status (OR=3.976; 95%CI=1.451-10.893), presence of chronic diseases (OR=6.670; 95%CI=1.342-33.145), and having a nursing or midwifery background (OR=6.449; 95%CI=1.236-33.145) were significantly associated with higher stress level (p<0.05). It is essential for the hospital to implement appropriate policies to mitigate stress among health workers, thereby enhancing their mental health and work productivity.
